So what is “The Cloud”
Cloud Computing is the storing, sharing and/or processing of data via the internet. This can remove the need to rely on accessing traditional storage repositories such as local servers or your own PC hard drive. Cloud Computing can provide an enhanced, wider range of services to clients than is available via more traditional methods of software delivery. Data stored in the Cloud is usually stored in a Data Centre, providing stringent security and access protocols to protect your data from unauthorised access.
Cloud Computing does not store data on stand-alone servers or a PC hard drive as is the case with traditional home or office networks. Using the Cloud means accessing or at least synchronising with other resources and or data via the internet regardless of where it is stored. A major advantage of Cloud Computing is that your data and resources can be accessed anywhere, any time provided you have an internet connection. Using the Cloud is usually seamless to users. The real benefit is your employees and customers can access your business services globally, regardless of where your data is stored. The Enterprise market uses the Cloud slightly differently to small business and home users with many beginning to take advantage of the technology.
